About
Welcome to Cafe Dyrehaven, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Vesterbro, Denmark. Located on Sønder Blvd. 72, this local bar and cafe stands out for its cozy atmosphere and delightful culinary offerings. It’s a spot that perfectly embodies Danish hygge, inviting locals and visitors alike to settle in and savor their time.
Upon entering Cafe Dyrehaven, you’ll find a lively yet relaxed vibe. Patrons can choose from a diverse menu with options ranging from traditional Danish Smørrebrød to innovative dishes like the highly praised avocado mousse bread. Customer reviews sing praises of the classic cod fish paired with tartar sauce, highlighting the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients and flavorful presentations. As one happy diner, Deniz Gün, noted, it’s the “cutest local bar” where one can enjoy a refreshing wildflower IPA alongside great food.
Cafe Dyrehaven is also known for its exceptional breakfast offerings. Many guests have raved about their perfectly poached eggs and crispy potatoes, a delightful start to any day. However, the cafe is not without its quirks. Guests have pointed out the self-seating ordering system, which may take some getting used to. Despite this, the delicious food keeps diners coming back for more. Julie Taeko’s experience with the avocado mousse is a testament to the cafe’s charm—small portions, but bursting with flavor.
While the cafe boasts an impressive menu, some guests have noted room for improvement in service and beverage options. M A shared their experience of needing to venture inside to settle the bill, pointing out the slight inconvenience. Yet, the consistent quality of the coffee and the embrace of a casual dining experience makes these minor complaints fade away.
Whether you’re looking for a spot to unwind with friends, indulge in delicious food, or simply enjoy a good cup of coffee, Cafe Dyrehaven is a must-visit. In a city bustling with cafes, it manages to stand out by creating an inviting environment that makes every meal feel special. So grab a seat, order up, and prepare to be charmed by this delightful establishment.
“ Walked past Mad og Kaffe that had 30 people waiting on a sunny Sunday to find this great place. Crispy potatoes were delicious, watching Mad og Kaffe hopeful patrons waiting for most of our meal, priceless. ”
“ The poached eggs were amazing. The food and coffees were great. However, there are two drawbacks: the service and the beverages. We should have gone inside the restaurant to pay and there were no one to bring it to us. The finished the orange juice and there were not so many options on the menu! We ended up ordering bottled sangria for breakfast!!’ ”
“ This is the cosiest and the cutest local bar! We had the the wildflower IPA and shared the cod fish with the tartar sauce which was pretty good. Food and the drinks are super nice overall! Cannot wait to go back! ”
“ Oddly enough, you have to seat yourself first, and then order your meal. As such, the service is okay compared to other places, and the portions are quite small, but it’s absolutely delicious. I had the avocado mouse bread which was fantastic!!! ”
“ The BEST open sandwiches, the chicken salad was my favourite of the two, however the salmon was also amazing. It’s also great that you can choose two smaller options so you get to try more flavours! Lovely local beer on tap too, the staff were super friendly also. ”
“ What a great bar, serving excellent meals with amazing background music, from Gun Club, Tom Verlaine, Iggy Pop and more… We were looking for a place to have dinner in a bar that wasn’t touristy, and we found this excellent spot with perfect service and, as already mentioned, truly excellent food. Highly recommended. ”
“ Our Danish friend brought us here for upscale yet traditional Smørrebrød and we were very pleased! There was a wide variety of options, the coffee was good, and we enjoyed everything we ate. ”
